Our website address is: https://sattvamart.com
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Sattva Mart website and your purchase of any products from our WooCommerce store. By placing an order or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before purchasing.
Sattva Mart is an online retailer of authentic Indian food products operating in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at hello@sattvamart.com before placing an order.

Placing an order
When you place an order on our WooCommerce store, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products at the stated price. A contract between you and Sattva Mart is only formed when we send you an order confirmation email confirming that your order has been accepted and is being processed.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion — for example, if a product is out of stock, if there is a pricing error, or if we suspect fraudulent activity. If we cancel your order after payment has been taken, we will issue a full refund within 14 days.
By placing an order you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- The information you have provided (name, address, payment details) is accurate and complete.
- You are authorised to use the payment method provided.
- You have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Products and descriptions
We take care to ensure that all product descriptions, images, weights, and ingredient information on our website are accurate. However, product packaging, labelling, and specifications may occasionally differ from what is shown online — for example, due to supplier or manufacturer updates. We recommend always reading the product label and packaging upon receipt, particularly if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements.
Allergen information: Our products are foods sourced from India and may contain or be produced in facilities that handle common allergens including nuts, gluten, dairy, sesame, and mustard. Always check the product label. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us at hello@sattvamart.com before ordering.
Product images are for illustrative purposes only. Colour, packaging, and appearance may vary from the product you receive. This does not constitute a breach of contract provided the product itself matches the description.
Pricing and payment
All prices on our website are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are calculated and displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase. We do not apply hidden charges — the total price shown at checkout is the total you will pay.
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed on the website at the time you place your order. If a pricing error is discovered after your order is placed, we will contact you before processing and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or receive a full refund.
Payment is processed securely through our authorised payment providers (Stripe and/or PayPal), who are certified to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). We accept major credit and debit cards. Payment is taken at the time of placing your order. We do not store your full card details — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Delivery
We deliver to addresses within the United Kingdom only. Estimated delivery times are shown on our website and at checkout. These are estimates only and not guaranteed delivery dates. We are not liable for delays caused by our delivery partners, Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, or other couriers, or by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (see Force Majeure below).
Delivery charges vary by order weight and location and will be clearly shown before you complete your purchase. Free delivery thresholds, where offered, will be stated on our website at the time of ordering.
Risk of loss or damage to products passes to you at the point of delivery. If your order arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately and contact us within 48 hours of receipt at hello@sattvamart.com.
If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful and your order is returned to us, we will contact you to arrange re-delivery. A re-delivery charge may apply.
Your right to cancel (cooling-off period)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving any reason. This is your statutory “cooling-off” period.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision before the 14-day period expires by contacting us at hello@sattvamart.com with your order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel.
Exceptions — the right to cancel does not apply to:
- Perishable goods that have a short shelf life or expiry date, where cancellation is not reasonably practicable.
- Goods that have been opened or used after delivery, where the seal has been broken and the product cannot be resold for hygiene reasons.
- Products that have been customised or personalised specifically for you.
If you cancel a valid order within the cooling-off period, you must return the goods to us at your own cost within 14 days of cancelling. Goods must be returned unused, in their original sealed packaging, and in a resaleable condition. Once we receive the returned goods and verify their condition, we will issue a full refund — including the original standard delivery charge — within 14 days, using the same payment method you used to place your order.
Returns and refunds
In addition to your statutory cancellation rights above, we accept returns and issue refunds in the following circumstances under the Consumer Rights Act 2015:
- Faulty or damaged goods: If your product arrives damaged or is faulty, you are entitled to a full refund, repair, or replacement. Contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photographic evidence.
- Wrong item received: If we send you the wrong product, we will arrange collection and send the correct item at no additional cost, or issue a full refund.
- Not as described: If the product materially differs from its description on our website, you are entitled to a refund.
To request a return or refund, email hello@sattvamart.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photographs where relevant. We will respond within 3 working days. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods or confirming the issue.
We do not accept returns of food products that have been opened, partially consumed, or whose packaging has been damaged after delivery, unless the product was faulty.
Customer accounts
You may choose to register an account on our WooCommerce store. Registering is not required to make a purchase — guest checkout is available. If you register, you are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure and confidential.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately at hello@sattvamart.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we believe is being used fraudulently, abusively, or in breach of these Terms. All users can view, edit, or request deletion of their personal information at any time via the “My Account” page, subject to our legal data retention obligations (see our Privacy Policy).
Acceptable use
When using our website, you agree not to:
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates applicable UK law.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent orders or information.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website, server, or database.
- Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce any content from our website without our prior written consent.
- Post offensive, defamatory, or abusive reviews or comments.
- Impersonate Sattva Mart or any other person or entity.
We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the website if you breach these acceptable use conditions.
Intellectual property
All content on our website — including but not limited to text, product descriptions, images, logos, the Sattva Mart name, branding, and the overall website design — is the intellectual property of Sattva Mart or our licensed suppliers and is protected by UK copyright and trade mark law.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, transmit, or distribute any content from our website without our express written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use. Unauthorised use of our intellectual property may give rise to a claim for damages.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; any liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK law.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with any order or use of our website shall not exceed the total value of the relevant order placed by you. We are not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of our website or products.
- Loss of profits, revenue, or data.
- Delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (see Force Majeure).
- The content, products, or privacy practices of any third-party websites linked from our site.
These limitations do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
Force majeure
We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms where such delay or failure arises from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to: extreme weather events, natural disasters, pandemic or public health emergencies, acts of government, postal or courier strikes, supply chain disruptions, or failures of third-party services.
In such circumstances, we will contact you as soon as reasonably practicable to explain the situation and agree an alternative arrangement or, where appropriate, issue a refund.
Product reviews
We welcome genuine customer reviews on our website. By submitting a review, you confirm that it is based on your honest personal experience with our products. In compliance with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, we do not:
- Publish or commission fake reviews.
- Pay for, incentivise, or manipulate reviews in any way that is not clearly disclosed.
- Suppress genuine negative reviews.
We reserve the right to remove reviews that contain offensive language, personal information, spam, or content unrelated to our products. We do not edit the substance of any review. All reviews are moderated before publication.
Privacy and data protection
Your use of our website and purchase of our products is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
We handle all personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. For full details of how we collect, use, and protect your data, please see our Privacy Policy.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including our payment providers, delivery partners, and social media profiles. These links are provided for your convenience only. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any third-party website, and a link does not constitute an endorsement of that website or its operator. You access third-party websites entirely at your own risk.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, applicable law, or WooCommerce functionality. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website homepage and, where appropriate, by email to registered customers.
The Terms in force at the time you place your order are the Terms that apply to that order. Continued use of our website after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of our website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under applicable UK consumer law.
